How to use this template
The Road Trip Itinerary is for journeys where the route is part of the experience and every day depends on realistic driving time. Use it for a weekend loop, a national-park holiday, a coastal drive, or a longer multi-state adventure. Start with overnight stops, then calculate each leg using current map estimates and add breaks for fuel, meals, viewpoints, and short walks.
The distance and driving columns make an overloaded day obvious before it becomes exhausting. Record lodging addresses and check-in limits, and use the cost field for fuel, tolls, parking, or shared vehicle expenses. It is helpful to mark which stops are essential and which can be skipped if weather or traffic changes the schedule.
Share the route with everyone who may drive and download an offline copy before entering areas with weak coverage. The finished plan should support safe decisions on the road while leaving enough flexibility for the unexpected places that make a road trip memorable.
